The Promenade is one of the few old school places left in Nana area. Just like “The Atlanta” in Soi 2, the “Crown BTS Nana” or “The Ambassador” in Soi 11 the hotel has the good, old Bangkok flair with a wooden lobby and a chandelier, spacious rooms, window fronts which can be opened widely and comfortable bedding. The staff was very kind throughout our stay: the concierge bringing an ashtray to the entrance without asking, the cleaning staff placing water bottles daily in front of the “Do not disturb” sign, flexible check out times with no overcharged rate. White cotton towels and sheets, a brand new quiet A/C, flat screen TV, plenty of lights, a large mirror in the bedroom, 8! international electricity plugs (3 next to the bed), toiletries, cold and clean fridge, water boiler, shelving for all your stuff, and the fastest internet we had in BKK with your own router in your room. Dark curtains keep the room cooler and in night mode if you spent too much time in bars. The water pressure is perfect. The rooftop pool with a spectacular view over empty lots and the skyline is small but perfectly fine for a refreshing dip. There is an elevator so no need to carry your luggage. Unlike many hotels in the area The Promenade is in a more quiet part of Soi 8 but still close to 7-eleven, streetfood, Nana BTS and various restaurants/massage places. If you are lucky to get a decent room rate between 1.100 and 1.400 THB don’t hesitate to book. We prefer the authentic and historical vibe to too modern, cheap interior, small rooms so I guess we come back.

I was able to get a taxi door to door to and from the hotel. When I left there were several taxi drivers operating in the street outside who were all fighting for my business. It cost only 1300bht from the hotel to Pattaya a 2hr drive and the taxi driver had to pay 340 bht toll charges out of that which left him with 960 bht ie less than £22 for 2 passengers in total. The hotel has a restaurant opposite most of which is located in an outside garden setting and it provides meals at very reasonable prices. Breakfast starts at 11am for the full monte at less than £6 and it is open until about 12 midnight for evening meals. The hotel is about 10 mins walk from Nana Plaza the entertainment centre of the area and a 10 minute walk to skytrain. It is also about half an hour walk to the MRT. There is a small pool on the rooftop with space to sunbathe which is ideal for children. The rooms are a reasonable side with good quality furniture though it is a bit outdated. Our room was cleaned every day and our bedding changed regularly. It was left made up very neatly with three chambermaids cleaning it all together. If it was raining the hotel always provided us with an umberella.

The location was excellent. It was 3-4 minutes walk from Nana BTS. It was a well lit road with lots of shops and restaurants, not some dodgy alley. The main street was not noisy. My room was facing the street, but I had a peaceful sleep. Room was very clean. Linen and towels were clean. Bed was comfortable. Staffs were nice. Water pressure was good. Nothing one can dislike. I do not like central Bangkok, however if I need to stay in this area, I will definitely book this hotel again.

Great hotel. Fantastic location in a great soi close to all the activity. The rooms and hotel are old but it's well looked after. The rooms were super clean with all the stuff you need and none of the nonsense you don't. The price is great and the sliding scale for late check out is an excellent idea. Staff are friendly, attentive and happy to help with requests. If you want to be in the thick of it but you're looking for a budget option, this would be it.

Great value for money considering the great location. The room is clean and comfortable and had a brand new air conditioning unit.Windows I could open.No noise from outside (I was on the fifth floor at the front of the hotel)Great view from pool.Staff were so helpful with some printing and taking photos for me. You won't get better for this price in such a great location
